2000 May 01Socio-economic study of the village of Kinindo
The population of Kinindo is an urban population. The activities carried out relate mainly to the tertiary sector. Most of these are government officials, soldiers, diplomats and traders. Some heads of households are multi-skilled: this is the case of civil servants and soldiers who, in addition to their wage activities, raise large livestock and trade. This choice of multi-activity is dictated by the desire to cope with living conditions that have now become difficult. Indeed, for populations living on fixed incomes such as wages, their purchasing power is constantly decreasing with the rise in the prices of agricultural and manufactured products. Under these conditions, diversifying sources of income through multi-activity becomes a rule.
