2011 Jun 01National Agricultural Investment Plan (PNIA): 2012 - 2017
Like other member countries of NEPAD, Burundi is committed to: (i) creating an environment favorable to better competitiveness in the agricultural and rural sector; (ii) to achieve the objective of 6% growth in the agricultural sector and to mobilize the necessary resources to make the corresponding investments, (iii) to allocate resources of up to 10% of the national budget to the agricultural sector, in accordance with the commitments of the Maputo Declaration and (iv) to create a coordinated frame of reference for financing bilateral and multilateral in the sector.
To this end, Burundi needs a coherent framework in which all actions in the agricultural sector are coordinated. Thus, in collaboration with In consultation with all partners in the sector, it was agreed to set up a coherent, prioritized and operational PNIA capable of meeting the imperative of controlling the management and coordination of the agricultural sector. The PNIA is aligned with the Burundi 2025 vision developed in 2009 and approved in 2010.
