This National Strategy and Action Plan for Environmental Education and Awareness was developed as part of the Nile Transboundary Environmental Action Project of the Shared Vision of the Nile Basin Initiative (NTEAP/IBN).

This environmental education policy document is the result of the participatory process that involved all stakeholders. Indeed, a consultation and consultation workshop organized at the beginning of this work allowed the establishment of concerted guidelines that helped the development of this document. This document was also consolidated on the basis of existing information in sectoral policy documents and surveys conducted in various institutions and among national associations. This document was validated by a
national workshop on 12 February 2009.
