The purpose of this study is to formulate indicators of the economic value of tourism based on the observation of hippopotamuses in the Delta sector of Rusizi National Park (PNR). It is finally a study that somewhat supports the idea of the Government of Burundi to boost ecotourism by improving the supply and stimulating the demand for tourist products (PND Burundi 2018-2027).

The indicators that have been proposed will certainly facilitate the assessment of the economic value of tourism based on the observation of hippopotamuses in the Delta sector but will also help PNR managers to make certain decisions to reverse the trend.
