On the occasion of National Tree Day 2018, which will be celebrated on December 15, 2018, the Minister of the Environment, Agriculture and Livestock, Déo Guide Rurema released a statement in which he announced that this day will be celebrated under the theme: “Forests and sustainable cities”. In this statement, the Minister in charge of the Environment indicated that the day of 15 December 2018 provides an opportunity to assess the annual review of activities carried out in the forest sector. He said that this will make it possible to develop strategies for the sustainable management of forests and cities, taking into account the strategic guidelines of the National Development Programme (PND 2018-2027) in order to adapt to the effects of climate change.
