The BIOPAMA partnership combines protected areas and IUCN's expertise in biodiversity conservation with the scientific know-how of the European Commission's Joint Research Center (JRC). Within IUCN as a Union, BIOPAMA brings together the Secretariat and four regional offices, the expertise of the WCAP-IUCN capacity development group, as well as numerous IUCN members, states and non-governmental organizations, as beneficiaries. Regional organizations in Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific also participate in the implementation of the program, in particular through the collaboration of the Observatories of Protected Areas and Biodiversity.
