ICIPE's mission is to help reduce poverty, ensure food security, and improve the overall health status of people in the tropics by developing and expanding tools and strategies for managing harmful and useful arthropods, while maintaining the natural resource base through research and capacity building.

The vision of the Center is to be a pioneer in global entomology science, to improve the well-being and resilience of people and the environment to the challenges of a changing world, through innovative and applied research, as well as in-depth exploratory studies, impact assessments, and sustainable capacity building.
