Separation of invertebrates preserved in the laboratory of the Burundian Office for Environmental Protection (OBPE)

As part of the study of the world of invertebrates, the Burundian Office for the Protection of the Environment (OBPE) has started collections in natural ecosystems and agricultural environments using various sampling methods. Among these invertebrates, only spiders, pollinators, fruit flies, syrphids, and Diplopods were separated and were the subject of scientific research studies by various student researchers as part of their final studies, while other groups still stayed together. These groups, which have not yet been studied, present a great diversity that is not well known. It is in the logic of knowing the different taxonomic groups available to the OBPE that Mademoiselle NTAWUYANKIRA Neilla, Biologist laureate from the University of Burundi, was recruited to make the entry into the framework of the “Program of Research, Information Exchange, Information Exchange, Awareness and Conservation of Biodiversity in Burundi” under the funding of the Royal Institute of Natural Sciences of Belgium (IrscNB).
