2004 Apr 01Identification of capacity building needs for the implementation of the national biodiversity strategy and action plan for biological diversity (Mugamba-Bututsi ecological zone)
The conservation of biodiversity for its sustainable use is an essential necessity to ensure the well-being of present and future populations in the world in general, in Burundi in particular and more particularly in the ecological zone of MUGAMBA-BUTUTSI. Being a common heritage, biological diversity must be preserved in such a way as to enable the equitable enjoyment of the benefits of its resources in a sustainable manner.
However, the capacities of populations and of the various actors involved in the management of biological resources are very limited.
Indeed, in the MUGAMBA-BUTUTSI region, the problem of managing biological resources is closely linked to the capacities available to the populations and other actors.
