Specimen collection and identification

On March 29, 2016, the intern student carried out a field visit to the Palmeraie sector of Kibira National Park during which some plant species were collected. The latter have been preserved in newspaper papers. It was an opportunity to learn about the content of the LEM sheets and to create your own herbariums. The samples of the species collected were dried. After drying, the intern moved on to their determination.

During this determination, the OBPE herbarium and that of the University of Burundi were consulted in order to confirm the results found. It should be noted that, even though the internship lasted only one month, its results are of great scientific importance.
