By ratifying the Convention on Biological Diversity, Burundi has committed itself to implementing the objectives of this treaty. Currently, Burundi is committed to implementing the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety by developing a National Biosafety Framework (CNB). It is within this framework that this study on programs and projects relating to biotechnology and biosafety was conducted.
