Gisagara Protected Landscape
The Gisagara Protected Landscape is located in the east of the country and occupies approximately 6126 ha, of which the natural area covered by vegetation is approximately 2913.5 ha. The altitude varies between 1230 m and 1600 m.
| In this protected area, we distinguish open forests dominated by Brachystegia and Julbernadia (82% of the vegetation), wooded savannas, wooded savannas, grassy savannas and forest galleries. The plant formations of the Gisagara Protected Landscape are home to few large mammals as a result of the degradation of their habitats. The Grimm's duiker (Sylvicapra grimmia) is the only antelope still observable. | |
