Kibira National Park Development and Management Plan

The Land Use and Management Plan (PAG) is intended to be a reference tool for the programs and activities that will be developed over the next 5 years. As such, the PAG will serve as a common base for all stakeholders and actors involved or interested in park management. In order to facilitate the reading and assimilation of this document, a simplified format was adopted by presenting only a summary of the key aspects relating to the management and conservation of the site. This document therefore contains two important parts:

- Descriptive part that presents the current situation of the PNK by listing the physical, ecological and socio-economic characteristics, analyzing the various problems facing the PNK.

- Part outlining the development and management plan, which is subdivided into two sub-points:

  • Zoning plan presenting the geographic framework within which management programs will take place. Zoning makes it possible to define the various categories of spaces in the park and to wisely guide the activities to be carried out over the next 5 years.
  • Management program that describes the goals, strategies, and activities to be developed during the section covered by this plan. This part represents the “heart” of the PAG and proposes the main guidelines that will make it possible to achieve the general objectives set out in this plan.
