2019 Nov 05Report on research activities on pollinating insects at Mount Teza, Kibira National Park, Kibira National Park, Rusizi and the city of Bujumbura for the month of October in the fourth quarter, 2019
The Burundian Office for Environmental Protection (OBPE), through the “Program of Research, Information Exchange, Information Exchange, Awareness and Conservation of Biodiversity in Burundi” under the funding of the Royal Institute of Natural Sciences of Belgium (IRSNB), has the mission of conducting research on pollinators in order to improve knowledge on the functioning of pollination as an ecosystem service. This research helps to improve the state of biodiversity, fight poverty, and improve food security. Thus, pollinator collection trips were organized on October 26, 2019 in the city of Bujumbura and in the Delta sector of the Rusizi National Park to monitor the collection activities by two Masters students as well as on November 2, 2019 at Mont Teza in the Kibira National Park to carry out research activities on pollinating insects. These activities count for the month of October in the fourth quarter.
