The overall objective is to strengthen the capacities of States so that the health safety requirements of fishery and aquaculture products (of continental and marine origin) can ensure safe standards for fishery products in the region, while meeting the requirements of their trading partners around the world.

The expected result is that the capacities that will be built, at a national and regional level, for the health regulatory requirements of fishery and aquaculture products (of continental and marine origin), will also ensure safe health standards for fishery products in the region, while meeting the requirements of their trading partners around the world.

Strengthening health conditions throughout the region should contribute to the improvement of the health and well-being of national populations, as well as increase international trade in fishery products.
