This study serves as a national report on the forest sector in BURUNDI. It focuses on six chapters relating respectively to the state of forest resources, both natural and artificial, to the institutional and political framework, to the impact of the October 1993 crisis on forest ecosystems and to the general constraints of this sector, prospects and general conclusions. It falls within the framework of Technical Cooperation between Developing Countries (C.T.P.D.) and aims to provide certain inputs to the implementation of the prospective study of the forest sector for Africa.
