On September 23, 2020, the celebration of the International Day for the Protection of the Ozone Layer took place at the Hotel Best Outlook under the theme “Ozone for Life”. This workshop saw the participation of officials from various ministries and institutions involved in environmental protection, refrigeration technicians, university teachers, customs agency declarants, agents of the Burundian Revenue Office and parliamentarians. The activities of this day were opened by the speeches of the Director General of OBPE followed by the speech of the Minister in charge of the Environment represented by his Permanent Secretary. Various presentations were given concerning Substances Depleting the Ozone Layer, the Montreal Protocol and its amendments, and Burundi's achievements in implementing the Montreal Protocol. The day ended with a moment of exchange and discussions.
