As part of the effective management of protected areas, the Government of Burundi has obtained technical assistance from the United Nations Food Organization and Plan d'Aménage et de Gestion RN Rumonge, Nkayamba and Kigwena Page 8 agriculture (FAO), through the project “Strengthening the physical integrity of protected areas and improving the living conditions of coastal populations”. Among the activities to be carried out under this project is the development of plans for the development and management of protected areas in Monge, Vyanda, Rumonge, Nkayamba and Kigwena.
