2020 Nov 12Activity report for the monitoring of bamboos in Kibira National Park
As part of the “program of research, information exchange, awareness and conservation of biodiversity in Burundi” established under the Memorandum of Understanding between OBPE and the Royal Institute of Natural Sciences of Belgium (IRSNB), bamboo monitoring at the level of quadrants located in the three sectors of Kibira National Park (Musigati, Rwegura and Teza) continued after a period of crisis due to COVID-19 that has paralyzed the activities of the program. This monitoring took place from 9 to 12 November 2020 respectively in the three sectors concerned and where this species of bamboo (Arundinaria alpina) is found in abundance.
