The 2018 edition of the United Nations List of Protected Areas focuses on the effectiveness of protected area management. This compendium was made possible thanks to the numerous contributions made by numerous representatives, women and men, of national and international agencies from around the world. Their assistance in collecting, organizing, updating, and reviewing information related to the effectiveness of protected area management documented in the Global Protected Areas Database is greatly appreciated.
