The risk of extinction of Syzygium guineense var. macrocarpum is increasingly being reported across Africa. However, the status of this Myrtacea has not yet really been clarified despite its multiple uses. Recently, the existence of four sub-varieties of the plant was reported in the agro-ecological zone of the high Guinean savannas of Cameroon. It is assumed that the in situ conservation status of plant sub-varieties does not differ significantly in this agro-ecological. A floristic inventory and the vegetation transect method were used. Overall, there is a significant difference (P < 0.05) between the areas where the plant's sub-varieties are present. The in situ conservation status of the plant's sub-varieties is favorable in zone 1 (Tello) compared to those 2 (Gada-Dang) and 3 (Gada-Bidou). These results will serve as a starting point for future studies aimed at the in situ conservation of the plant, particularly in the agro-ecological zone of the high Guinean savannas of Cameroon.
