Report on the collection of data on woody species in Kibira National Park used by local populations: Rwegura sector

As part of the program of research and conservation of biodiversity in Burundi established between the Burundian Office for Environmental Protection (OBPE) and the Royal Institute of Natural Sciences of Belgium (IRSNB), two field trips were carried out in the Provinces of KAYANZA and CIBITOKE. This research on the diversity, importance and vulnerability of woody trees will make it possible to appreciate the floristic richness of the Kibira National Park used by local residents. The first descent was made by taking the Bujumbura-Kayanza road on August 29, 2021 and the activities themselves were carried out from August 30, 2021 to August 7, 2021. The second descent was made by taking the Bujumbura-Ndora road on November 4, 2021 and the activities were carried out from November 5, 2021 until November 23, 2021.
