The Burundian Office for Environmental Protection (OBPE), an institution in charge of PAs, has always relied on ecotourism to ensure its financial self-sufficiency. Currently, following the inadequacy of financial allocations by the Government to support environmental conservation activities in general and PAs in particular, the OBPE must multiply initiatives to mobilize financial resources. Among the important activities to be carried out is the development of the eco-tourism business by promoting the tourist attractions of PAs and their coastal environments.
