2022 Nov 01Report on the annual workshops of Belgium's partner countries on Measurement, Reporting and Verification (MRV), awareness-raising and the Information Exchange Center (CHM) in the field of biodiversity
From 12 to 20 October 2022, annual workshops in Belgium's partner countries on Measurement, Reporting and Verification (MRV), Awareness-raising and the Information Exchange Center (CHM) on biodiversity were held. These workshops saw the participation of the various delegates from Belgium's partner countries and took place in the premises of the Hotel Club du Lac Tanganyika. The opening and closing ceremonies were enhanced by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Environment, Agriculture and Livestock and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Burundi.
Insofar as the Convention on Biological Diversity encourages parties to share scientific, technical and technological experiences for the better protection of biodiversity and the ecosystems that shelter them, the speeches of these two major personalities showed the commitment of their respective countries to support the conservation of biodiversity through the tools of Measurement, Reporting and Verification (MRV) and CHM (Clearing House Mechanism) as well as the raising awareness in the conservation and protection of biodiversity.
