As part of the Research Program, Information Exchange, Awareness and Conservation of Biodiversity in Burundi executed in partnership between the Burundian Office for Environmental Protection (OBPE) and the Royal Institute of Natural Sciences of Belgium (IRSNB), a meeting on the restoration of rattan (rotang palm) was scheduled and carried out at the Kigwena Forest Nature Reserve, on 23 and 24 March 2023. The activity took place in Rumonge province, Rumonge commune, Kigwena zone, Kigwena zone, at the Kigwena Forest Nature Reserve, one of the preferred areas for rattan.
