As part of the Program for Research, Information Exchange, Awareness and Conservation of Biodiversity in Burundi implemented in partnership between the Burundian Office for the Protection of the Environment (OBPE) and the Royal Institute of Natural Sciences of Belgium (IRSNB), a consultation activity with target groups was planned and carried out to consult target groups for the restoration of Raphia rwenzorica in the Province of Bujumbura, on dates from 22 to 23 December 2022. This activity consisted in identifying the target groups and in defining the various activities that will be carried out for the restoration of Raphia ruwenzorica. The activity took place precisely in the municipality Nyabiraba, a municipality chosen on the basis of the presence of this species.
