As part of the Research Program, Information Exchange, Awareness and Conservation of Biodiversity in Burundi executed in partnership between the Burundian Office for Environmental Protection (OBPE) and the Royal Institute of Natural Sciences of Belgium (IRSNB), an activity was planned and carried out in connection with the meeting on the restoration of Cordia africana in Gitega Province, on the dates of 20 to 21 December 2022. This activity consists of identifying the target group and defining the various activities that will be carried out. The activity took place in the Municipality of Giheta, precisely at the tourist site of Gishora where the drummers live. The choice of this Commune was influenced by the fact that it is the origin of drums for the country and that they are made on the basis of Cordia africana.
