During the year 2023, several activities were carried out as part of the program of research, information exchange, awareness-raising and conservation of Biodiversity in Burundi. This program was established following the partnership signed between the Burundian Office for the Protection of the Environment (OBPE) and the Royal Institute of Natural Sciences of Belgium (IRSNB) through the CeBIOS program. These activities include the collection of data to monitor the dynamics of habitats and biodiversity of protected areas in Burundi in order to establish a functional system for collecting data on habitat types and their evolution.
