Training workshop on the IMET tool and the “Green List” standard at the University of Burundi (UB)

The International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the African Network of Coaches for Effective Management of Protected Areas (RACEGAP) co-organized, in partnership with the University of Burundi (UB), an introduction training to the IMET tool (Integrated Management Effectiveness Tool) and the Green List standard. This training aimed on the one hand to make these tools known in the academic environment and to ensure their sustainability, and on the other hand to offer students knowledge and skills that will allow them to be more competitive on the job market. It was also an opportunity to bring in the region's protected area management efficiency coaches in order to recycle them. So there was the opportunity to exchange between these professionals and the university community.

This workshop, which saw the participation of university professors and teachers, executives from the Burundian Office for Environmental Protection (OBPE), environmental journalists, experts from Biopama IUCN and RACEGAP experts, was held from 26 to 31 August 2024.
