Awards for the best Biodiversity Information Exchange Centers

In the framework of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), an instrument for exchanging information on biodiversity (CHM) was established following Article 18.3 of the Convention. At each Conference of the Parties to the CBD, a prize is awarded to Countries whose CHM is well functional and consulted by a general public, especially researchers and students.

A silver medal has just been awarded to Burundi in Cali in Colombia by the Executive Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). Burundi is the second country in the world after Malaysia and the first African country whose platform for exchanging information on biodiversity (https://bi.chm-cbd.net/fr) is more functional and consulted by many people. It is a great joy for actors in the field of biodiversity in Burundi.
