Physical demarcation, a necessity to protect and preserve Kibira National Park
Firewall-tracking activities are organized on 16 hills in the Musigati-Rugazi sector of Bubanza province, which borders on the Kibira National Park. The latter makes it possible to delimit Kibira and the fields of the coastal community. These activities are implemented by the Burundian Office for Environmental Protection OBPE in collaboration with the association Conservation Communauté de Changement in the program “Dukingire ibidukikije, let's protect the environment” under the funding of UNDP. The administration, forest rangers and the surrounding population welcome the initiative of the Conservation Community of Change association and UNDP. This is a report by journalists who are members of the Association of Environmental Journalists of Burundi (AJEB) on the Conservation Community of Change initiative.
