Dans le but d’élaborer son propre plan d’action à l’adaptation au changement climatique ainsi qu’à la gestion durable de leur localité, la population de la Commune Ruyigi en province Ruyigi, représentée par l’Association SERUKUBEZE, a procédé avec la facilitation de l’Association Burundaise pour la protection de la Nature (ABN) à l’évaluation de sa vulnérabilité face au changement climatique par l’analyse approfondie de sa relation avec la chaine de montagnes de Mpungwe, un écosystème primordial dont cette population dépend fortement à travers sa biodiversité ainsi que ses services écosystémiques.
