The chimpanzee also exists in Burundi

The chimpanzee (Pan troglodytes) is an endangered species all over the world, including Burundi. In addition to being hunted, its habitat is seriously degraded by various anthropogenic activities (cultural clearings, bush fires, wood cutting, mining extractions...). In Burundi, it is found in the Kibira National Park and in the nature reserves in the south of the country, namely the Bururi and Vyanda forest nature reserves and in the protected landscapes of Makamba.
