On 14 July 2017, a first quarterly meeting of the Interinstitutional Focal Points of the CHM-Burundians was held, within the premises of the liaison office of the Burundian Office for Environmental Protection (OBPE) as part of the “Programme for research, information exchange, information exchange, awareness-raising and conservation of biodiversity in Burundi” set up under the memorandum of understanding between the Burundian Office for the Protection of Environment (OBPE) and the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences (IRSCnb).

This meeting started with an opening statement from the CHM Interinstitutional Focal Point in charge of collecting information relating to the “Biodiversity” project, Mr. Fofo Alfonse. In his opening remarks, he welcomed the participants and asked them to post information related to the activities carried out in their respective institutions on the CHM-Burundian website.

After this opening speech, the Interinstitutional Focal Points (PFIs) then started posting information on the CHM-Burundian website. During the same session, explanations were given to PFIs experiencing difficulties in posting information concerning the activities carried out in their institutions, in particular the posting of files, photos, the creation of URLs as well as the correction of information already posted.

During this meeting, the information posted by the Interinstitutional Focal Points (PFIs) was validated by the National Focal Point of the CHM-Burundian, Msc NZIGIDAHERA Benoît. The meeting ended at 3:30pm.
