Program of Research, Information Exchange, Awareness and Conservation of Biodiversity in Burundi

The Program for Research, Information Exchange, Awareness and Conservation of Biodiversity in Burundi (PRESCBB) was established as part of the “institutional strengthening of OBPE in Burundi” component under the partnership between the Burundian Office for Environmental Protection (OBPE) and the Royal Institute of Natural Sciences of Belgium (IRSNB). It is based on 4 axes:

1. The dynamics of the habitats and biodiversity of protected areas and other ecosystems in Burundi including the Global Taxonomic Initiative (GTI);

2. Ecosystem services (ES) in protected areas and other ecosystems in Burundi

3. Raising the awareness of target audiences on the importance of sustainable use and conservation of biodiversity

4. The implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity in Burundi through the CHM and the MRV
