Project to Establish the APRN/BEPB Research and Application Center in Mutumba

As of 2017, the APRN/BEPB has a research and application center on Rabiro Hill in the town of Mutumba. This action-research center serves as a reference for the promotion of sustainable and prosperous agriculture in the locality. They also have banana plantations and other crops under experimentation, namely Soybeans, Mucuna, Corn and Potatoes. The land ownership in the center has an area of more than 3 ha. The center has non-specialized staff under the supervision of the head of the center (an agricultural engineer).

The infrastructures present are:

  • a stable with 5 Frisian cows (including a bull),
  • a pigsty with 10 pigs (including 9 females and 1 male),
  • two depots for the storage of food.
