The APRN/BEPB received funding from Land is Life in favor of the community association Garukira Abatwa. This association brings together the Batwa in the commune of Busoni, province of Kirundo. The Batwa of Busoni live between two protected areas, namely Lake Rweru and the Murehe Nature Reserve. Land is life grants have contributed to capacity building and community empowerment through fishing, basketry, beekeeping, and pig farming.

Financing

1. Pêche

Delivery of appropriate fishing tools to the Garukira Abatwa association, namely nets, canoes and life jackets. She practices fishing on Lake Rweru.

2. Basketry

Granting of basketry tools, namely molds, dyes, dyes, needles, basins, yarn bags.

3. Apiculture

Granting of beekeeping tools, treatment and conservation of honey.

4. Raising pigs

Granting piglets.
