Despite the predominant position of the agricultural sector in Burundi's economy, basic statistical information on this sector is particularly lacking. Burundi has never carried out a General Census of Agriculture and therefore does not have a real up-to-date survey base. This deficiency is a major obstacle to conducting annual surveys on the agricultural sector. The available statistics are not always up to date, are often incomplete and unreliable. It is obvious that this situation is prejudicial to any decision-making in the whole agricultural and livestock sector. Therefore, it has proved essential at the current stage to carry out the Burundi National Agricultural Survey (ENAB) in order to enable the Government and other users to have up-to-date and reliable statistical data on agriculture in the country. This document presents the results of season C from this survey.
