^{The National Biodiversity Consultative Meeting for the Republic of Burundi was held in Bujumbura from 15th — 16th October, 2020 in accordance with the EAC Calendar of activities for July-December, 2020.} The Meeting was coordinated and hosted by the Government of the Republic of Burundi through the Ministry in charge of East African Community Affairs, Youth, Sports and Culture. The meeting was facilitated by the East Africa Community (EAC) Secretariat.

The meeting had three main objectives:

-Identify national biodiversity priorities and consider country preparations for SBSTTA 24 & SBI 3, 15th COP sessions of ^CBD; and
