Faced with the threats to the terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems of Burundi and aware that the conservation, sustainable management, restoration of terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems and the development of their resources contribute to the conservation of biodiversity, the development of countries, the fight against the poverty of the populations concerned, the fight against poverty of the populations concerned and the fight against climate change, Burundi has committed to the restoration of 2 million hectares, as our contribution to the objective of the Challenge of Bonn or Bonn Challenge and to restore 150 million hectares by 2020.

This document constitutes a commitment by Burundi to contribute to the objective of the Bonn Challenge.
