In order to take appropriate measures to protect this unique species in Burundi and especially in order to effectively protect the palm grove sector of the Rusizi Nature Reserve, the Burundian Association for Environmental Impact Studies (ABEIE) initiated this study under the funding of the Société pour la Conservation du Rift Albertine (ARCOS). The study will provide relevant information as a basis for raising awareness among stakeholders for the sustainable management of the Palm Grove Sector.
