2014 Dec 01Integrated Vulnerability Analysis in Burundi: Volume I: “Introduction and Integrated Vulnerability Analysis to Climate Change at the National Level”
The integrated vulnerability assessment focuses on the water and soil resources that are the focus of the ACCES project. However, in cooperation with the global program “Adaptation to Climate Change for the Health Sector”, the analysis at the national level also includes the spread of malaria.
This final report of the vulnerability analysis project for Burundi presents the results of the project, which covered 11 months, from November 2013 to September 2014. At the beginning, we will present the forecasts for the effects of climate change in Burundi and the general methodology applied in the analysis. In the next chapter, we will provide the results of analysis at the national level with more specific methodological explanations. In Volume II: “Vulnerability Analysis at the local level”, we will provide the results of vulnerability analysis at the local level on the example of the three Mutambu municipalities,
Isale and Marangara. The document Volume III: “Detailed National Vulnerability Analysis Methodology” explains in more detail the methodology applied for the execution of the national vulnerability analysis. The document “Report on Climate Change in Burundi” contains the summary of the study on the effects of climate change prepared as part of the project.
