On November 30, 2020, an awareness-raising session was held for local administrative and court officials as well as the police forces (Military and police) in the town of Gihanga, bordering the Rusizi National Park, on the importance of maintaining its biodiversity and that of the Bujumbura arboretum. This session was organized as part of the synergy project between the Burundian Office for Environmental Protection (OBPE) and the company called Burundi Construction Products (PROCOBU).
