This assessment took place in 2015 on all protected areas in Burundi by focusing on the context of intervention and management effectiveness, which includes six elements of the management cycle of a Protected Area, namely: the management context, planning, inputs, inputs, inputs, inputs, processes, results and effects and impacts. The objective of evaluating Protected Areas with the IMET tool aims to improve the use and ownership of planning-monitoring-assessment tools at the level of conservation sites and administrations at the central level by orienting information to decision-making.
