In Burundi, the 2010 International Year devoted to Biodiversity was seized as a privileged time for raising awareness among all actors and disseminating information on relevant biodiversity issues. The Clearing House Mechanism of the Republic of Burundi (CHM-Burundians), in a Belgian partnership under the Convention on Biological Diversity, was chosen to conduct the activities dedicated to this year 2010.

Thus, two important activities have been chosen:

• Produce and dedicate the INECN Scientific Bulletin;
• Raise awareness among all actors to protect wild pollinators in forest ecosystems in order to increase agricultural production.
