2019 Nov 21Report of the mission carried out in Yaoundé, Cameroon dated from 18 to 21 November 2019
The Central African Forest Observatory (OFAC), with the support of the project Strengthening and Institutionalizing the Central African Forest Observatory (RIOFAC), is developing a method for mapping land use and forest types in Central Africa and to allow the monitoring of changes using Sentinel-2 images and involving national experts from member countries of the Central African Forests Commission (COMIFAC). In order to support national experts and African administrations in the remote sensing monitoring of natural resources in the subregion, technical and scientific workshops have been set up.
In this context, from 18 to 21 November 2019, two national experts participated in a COMIFAC regional workshop on decametric mapping of land cover and forest types in Central Africa using SENTINEL images.
This document describes the course of this workshop.
