On January 23 to 24, 2023, as part of the Program for Research, Information Exchange, Awareness and Conservation of Biodiversity in Burundi executed in partnership between the Burundian Office for Environmental Protection (OBPE) and the Royal Institute of Natural Sciences of Belgium (IRSNB), a decent monitoring of fires in the RUVUBU National Park was organized. Data collection during this descent was carried out within eight pre-established plots in the RUVUBU National Park, with 4 plots for each of two sub-sectors: Muremera and Gasave.
