2021 Mar 03Report on research activities on pollinating bees at Mount Heha, for the month of February 2021
The Burundian Office for Environmental Protection (OBPE), through the “Program of Research, Information Exchange, Information Exchange, Awareness and Conservation of Biodiversity in Burundi” under the funding of the Royal Institute of Natural Sciences of Belgium (IRSNB), has the mission of conducting research on pollinators in order to improve knowledge on the functioning of pollination as an ecosystem service. This research helps to improve the state of biodiversity, fight poverty, and improve food security.
Thus, pollinating bee collections were organized on dates from 2 to 28 February 2021 at Mount Heha shared between the two municipalities: MUKIKE from the Province of Bujumbura and MUHUTA from the Province of Rumonge to continue to conduct research activities on pollinating bees due to an interval of two weeks.
