2014 Jun 01Strategic Plan for Investment and Mobilization of Financial Resources in the Field of Biodiversity 2013-2020
Based on these threats and causes of biodiversity loss, the 2013-2020 SNPAB highlights five major constraints that hamper the preservation of biodiversity:
- Low level of awareness for the conservation of biodiversity and the sustainable use of biological resources;
- Insufficient tools and techniques to stop pressures on biological diversity;
- Low level of protection of a representative set of the country's ecosystems, species and genes;
- Low level of valorization of the benefits derived from biological diversity and ecosystem services;
- Lack of a framework for participatory planning, knowledge management, and capacity building
To deal with these constraints, the SNPAB 2013-2020 proposes a Strategic Plan for Investment and Mobilization of Financial Resources, which is a financing mechanism for the effective implementation of the Biodiversity Policy. It is structured around the following main points:
- Overview of funding in the field of biodiversity;
- Analysis of priorities and potential sources of funding for biodiversity;
- Investment and financing mobilization strategy.
