Burundi has a new National Strategy and Action Plan on Biodiversity (SNPAB 2013-2020). This new biodiversity policy document includes 22 national goals built with the Aichi Targets (OA) in mind. To monitor the implementation of the SNPAB, Burundi has put in place indicators. Analyzing the indicators relating to national objectives in relation to the trend in biodiversity, species and ecosystems providing ecosystem services, it is noted that they are not based on known quantitative data.
